The Scandinavian SIG meets the 3rd Friday of each month from October through June at the Sea Breeze Recreation Center from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. One has to be a member of the Villages Genealogical Society to participate in this SIG. This blog is an extension of our monthly meetings. It is to be used to give feed back about our meetings, post information, ask questions and get answers . This will enable us to communicate even when some of our members are back up north in the summer.

March meeting
We will have another Q & A session coupled with using the computer to 1: find answers to questions asked and 2: to initiate some general web searches which will hopefully inspire us to ask more questions. Utilizing the computer during the meeting should provide an immediate step by step process for starting and or expanding our genealogical research.
The meeting will be from 10am to noon on March 15, 2013 at the Sea Breeze Recreation Center.

VGS Genetic Genealogy Special Interest Group
Jim Lannin has taken on the leadership of the VGS Genetic Genealogy SIG. The group will hold it's January meeting on Weds., January 23rd, at the Savannah Center from 8:45 am to 9:45 am.
Jim is working with John De Angelo to provide more information on a VGS Genetic Genealogy Web Page. The web page is http://villagesgenealogy.org/cpage.php?pt=66. Jim says that you will soon be able to find links to a wide range of resources for members of the Genetic Genealogy SIG.

Jim is the right person for leading this group. His experience and leadership capabilites will ensure that the material will be well researched and presented.
I recommend this group not just because of the topic but also because of the leader.
