Our February meeting is next Friday, 2/15, at the Sea Breeze recreation center from 10:00 am to 11:50 am.
Two members will present their research on one individual that seems to be a "brick wall" for them. We will discuss the research completed and then look for ways to get the research moving forward again. I think that as we review these cases we will all gain some insight for expanding our own research.
Coffee will be available.
Ann & I look forward to seeing many of you at the meeting.

Today we had 20 people in attendance. This, I think, is our most attended meeting. We had 9 guest/1st time attendees. Two are sending in their VGS membership applications now. Two were guests of other attendees and will be returning north in just a few days. A couple more are only going to be here for another 30 days so they will wait until fall to submit their applications. Three are already VGS members.
ReplyDeleteWe had good participation by all persons in attendance and with their input it made the meeting very interesting and informative. We look forward to seeing several of them at future meetings.
Next month we will have a general discussion session utilizing the computer more to find answers and information that will be of interest to our group.
In April we will discuss the vocabulary of each country that is beneficial to anyone researching their family history in each of the Scandinavian countries. We will incorporate a discussion of the documents where the vocabulary is most likely found as well as documents that we use to organize and manage our research.
